INVOLVE RESUME

Help / The Chrome extension

Use the extension on a job page

Score the posting you are reading, fill the application form in front of you, and read what the popup is telling you afterwards.

Updated 2026-09-04The Chrome extension

Two buttons matter on a job page: the score, and the fill.

Score the posting you are reading

  1. Open the posting.
  2. Open the popup and press Show my match score here. Accept the site permission in that click.
  3. The badge appears on the page.

Where you have more than one resume, all of them are scored against that posting in one pass, ranked, and the best one is opened first. The document to send is named rather than guessed at.

The score is worked out on your computer, the same way the website does it. The job ad stays inside the extension, and the number comes back. Your resume does not leave the browser.

It can read job ads on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Personio, employers' own careers pages and school careers portals. Most of these use a standard job ad format, and we have added special support for a few that do not.

Fill the application form

  1. Open the application form itself, not the listing page.
  2. Open the popup and press Fill this page.
  3. Read every field before submitting.
  4. Press the employer's own submit button.

The fill button needs Scan, Build and Apply, Pro Max, or a campus licence. Where the account does not have it, the popup says so and offers the pricing page.

What gets filled: your contact details, your work history, your tailored resume as an upload, and answers to form questions you have written before. What does not: consent boxes, and anything about work authorisation, visa status, citizenship, clearance, criminal record, disability, veteran status, ethnicity, gender or date of birth.

If a required field has no answer we can use, we leave it blank and mark it. That is on purpose. A visible gap costs you thirty seconds. A wrong answer that looks right can cost you the application.

Reading the popup

Eight blocks, top to bottom.

BlockWhat it tells you
AccountYour email and plan, or the reason the answer was no, with one button that fixes it
This pageThe hostname, the fill button, and the result line after a fill
Run a queueJob addresses one per line, the two modes, what is left today and this month, a consent tick for sending, start and stop, and a log
Match score on this pageThe switch, and a button to tailor this page in Involve when there is no score
Resume on this deviceHow many roles were read, when it synced, and how many tracked applications came with it
Saved answersHow many answers you have written that can be offered on the next form
Last page filledHost, time, and the count of fields filled, left blank and flagged
Open Involve, Forget everythingThe way back to the site, and the way to clear the local copy

The plan check

When the check says yes, the extension remembers it for fifteen minutes, so filling six forms in a row is quick. With no internet at all, a yes is kept for one day, and the extension window says it was checked earlier. A no is never remembered, so an upgrade works straight away.

Boards it will refuse

LinkedIn is always blocked. The extension never runs there, and no field is filled in or sent, because automating that site could get your own account blocked. Workday, SuccessFactors, iCIMS and Taleo are left out too, because applying there needs your own login from the employer.

On those, use the copy screen described in apply by hand on a manual board.

If no score appears at all, work through when the extension looks blank.

Questions about this

Does pressing fill send the application?

No. The toolbar button fills and stops. You read the form and press the employer's own submit button yourself.

What if I already typed something into a field?

It is left alone. The filler never overwrites a box you have already filled in.

Why are some fields outlined in red?

We left them blank on purpose, or filled them with an answer you typed before that you should check. You always answer identity and status questions yourself.

Which boards can it fill?

Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee are fully supported. On other sites it fills what it recognises and marks the rest.

Try it on a form you were going to fill anyway

The first fill is worth doing on a real application you intended to send, because the part worth checking is what it left blank.
